The story behind the image

Stigfossen is a beautiful waterfall near Åndalsnes, located at Trollstigen, Norway. Most people come for the most famous road in Norway: Trollstigen, meaning ‘Troll’s ladder’. The 11 hairpin curves road has an elevation of approximately 850 meters and is, during summer, a perfect spot to try out your driving skills. Combining a steep uphill road with congestion is nothing less than fun. The ‘perfect’ spot to see the falls in full glory is on top where the Norwegians have built a beautiful platform. When I was there, all I could see was clouds. But below, at the bridge Stigfossbrua, I was fascinated by the falls surrounded by the dark rocks. The contrast was mesmerizing and the flow of water was graceful, yet powerful.
