The story behind the image

At the Diamond Beach, the icebergs which fill the Jökulsáelón glacier lagoon wash up on shore, creating a stark contrast with the volcanic black sand. This beautiful display makes it a favourite location for photographers like myself. The day this picture was taken, the winds were blowing near storm speeds towards the ocean, blowing away tons of sand and the waves trying to hit the shore. This spectacular view was a dream to see, but a nightmare to shoot in.
